Slope Poppers
The value of this activity is to incorporate the use of technology into a class that is mathematically focused. Students will be required to use at least three websites/application to create their project. Students will also have the opportunity to utilize their skills in the English language to explain their project in a clear, concise way.
This fits with the unit topic because we are focusing on slope and linear equations. In this project, students will be using a website called Popplet to create an organizational page in creating a real-life situation that will require them to use slope and linear equations. They will create two scenarios to compare and explain how they solved each problem and which scenario is more beneficial based on what they solved for.
Students will be assessed in:
Below is an example that I have created with a picture of my Popplet, a website link for students to click to see the real Popper with the ability to zoom in and read it more clearly, and a reflection that they will do at the end on an analysis of this activity and how they felt about whether it did help them understand the concept more clearly or not and why.
Students will turn in their file as a word document below with a screenshot of their Popplet, a link that takes me to their Popplet, and a reflection.

Students will be assessed in:
- Their creativity on the real-life scenario they decide to create
- How they have organized their Popplet to look
- Whether they understood how to solve for their answer correctly
- If they were able to deliver how to solve their problem in a way that is simple for those who are seeing their project for the first time
- Utilized at least 3 websites/applications to create their project
